Does it not sound paradoxical that a rather poor country such as India, whose inhabitants are partly still suffering from under nourishment, does offer to the western countries one of the most elaborate and fulfilling science of healthy nourishment.

And it is more than paradoxical that a lot of people belonging to our civilization are daily overeating themselves. Unfortunately it is true that in our hemisphere only a negligible amount of people are eating “properly” and in a sane manner; the masses are overeating, or dieting in a desperate way, or eating too fast, or at the wrong times and the people just don’t take care of the effective needs of the body system.

Next to the malnutrition there are also various aspects which have to be controlled, like the daily habits, the life conduct, the joy of life, the manner of living according to the Ayurveda constitution. e.g. corresponding with the doshas.

According to the science of Ayurveda all the victuals have very specific qualities, which can help or hurt the personal dosha.

An example of the interpretation of the Ayurveda science of nutrition can be found in the following quotation:

The balance of the three doshas is directed by the personal way of nutrition. The taste of each nutriment (sweet, sour, salty, hot, bitter or constricting) has to be defined properly and it is important to know whether it is a heavy or light nutrient, whether is brings heat or cold to the stomach. Food stuff which is too oily or too dry, too liquid or too consistent can cause a lot of disturbance and can be a real poison for certain doshas. It is absolutely important that the changes of the season are taken into consideration, as well as the professional habits and the life style altogether.

In the science of Ayurveda the major part of the nutriment helps to preserve and restore your health. This is the reason why “food” plays also a very important part during a holistic cure.

During your stay and Ayurveda cure you will be served daily meals, which are cooked by our chef from India, in accordance with the choice made by the Ayurveda responsible, who will of course take into consideration the balancing of your doshas.
